I found the Future of Education Ning interesting. I can see it as a great way to connect with teachers across the country and hear different ways teachers are tackling different problems and challenges facing teachers today. It could help one to gain perspective on their own challenges and open up your mind to looking at things in a different way.
I can see how a Ning could be useful in classroom as a way to get students talking to each other and the teacher without having to worry about some of the privacy issues on Facebook or Myspace. It would be a way to create a space that is more of an academic social website instead of purely social. I feel it would take a lot of work to create and maintain though since you create the site yourself.
